Welcome to the personal website of James LePage. I am a digital founder, developer, designer, and generalist. Currently, I’m co-founding a new startup, focused on making better decisions in complex systems with foundational AI. I blog about what I do here.
Before this, I was the Head of AI at Automattic, and cofounded several companies. WPAI, acquired by Automattic, was my most recent venture backed startup. Founded in 2022, it focused on building AI solutions for WordPress1, including one of the first autonomous AI agents for the web, an AI IDE focused on WordPress, and a ChatGPT alternative… for WordPress.

Before that, I was the technical co-founder of ShareClub, a venture-backed shareholder rewards platform.
It facilitated the distribution of in-kind rewards from public companies to individual shareholders. For example, if you invested in Acme Inc and held for 1 month, you could claim a $100 gift card2 every year from that company.
Prior to ShareClub, I studied entrepreneurship and AI at Syracuse University, and ran Isotropic, a digital agency, for 4+ years. At Isotropic, we built large ecommerce sites3 (our largest client had $28M+ ARR in D2C wellness product subscriptions), digital magazines, and critical marketing sites for public companies.
